Behavioural Advice

Address your cat or dog's behaviours with the expertise of a professional.

As a pet owner, it’s natural to try to fix behavioural problems on your own first. However, if the problem doesn’t improve or gets worse, it’s a good idea to reach out to a professional for help. New or unusual behaviour can sometimes mask health problems, which is why it’s important to seek professional help. Our team has the canine and feline behavioural knowledge needed to help you understand the reasons why your pet is acting the way they are.

Some situations can also cause a lot of stress and anxiety for pets. We can help your pet cope with a move, prepare them to welcome a new baby or pet into the family, help them get used to their crate, and more. We’re here to listen and provide judgment-free advice.

My cat is always scratching the couch. What advice do you have about this feline behaviour?

Our team members would be happy to give you a personalized 101 about scratching and provide you with alternatives to declawing that includes:

  • A convenient starter kit
  • Personalized support and advice
  • Scratch guard application
  • And more—contact us!

Please note that we have not been providing declawing (onyxectomy) services since January 2019.

My cat is very agitated early in the morning and at bedtime. Is this normal?

Cats are crepuscular animals, so they’re more active at dawn and dusk. They’re not nocturnal or diurnal, so it’s normal for them to expend more energy in the morning and evening.
